Fifty years on: Revising Pevsner's Suffolk - Dr James Bentley

The Suffolk volume of Sir Nikolaus Pevsner's 'Buildings of England' series was published in 1961 and is now being completely revised for the first time by our speaker, architectural historian, Dr James Bentley. He will illustrate his talk largely with examples of buildings in Southwold, Reydon and nearby villages.

Pakefield - 2000 years of history - Paul Durbidge

A welcome return of Paul Durbidge who is a founder member of the Lowestoft Archaeological & Local History Society. His talk will cover coastal erosion, the 1000-year history of the church, Roman and Anglo-Saxon remains and Second World War defences.

Southwold & District in Black and White: The Printmakers - Robert Temple

Robert, who spoke to us about local impressionist painter, Harry Becker, two years ago, now introduces us to a mix of well-known and less well-known printmakers, many from his own collection. They include Henry Davy, Charles Keene and Glynn Thomas.
